Add me to the list of very dissatisfied owners of Goodman junk. Our system is less than 2 years old. We are snowbirds. Compressor ran constantly last summer (while we were up north) for about 25 days before we figured out, via a very high electric bill, that we had a problem. Took installer several days to fix the problem. This week, after another high electric bill, seems to be a similar problem. We plan to bite the bullet and jettison the system!

Installed in 2/28/2020. Have had 5 service calls at $180.00 each and had a module replaced then a thermostat coil , then it iced up as the reversing valve doesn’t work so another service call .and still paying high electric bills due to the auxiliary heat.I am so discussed that I will find some other way to heat and to cool my home There is no ways to put minus stars but i would if I could.

My heat pump is 12 years old and I have never had a problem with it. My unit was installed correctly so I have even cooling and heating throughout my house. I highly recommend this brand but find a good installer, cheaper isn’t always the way to go.

It is now May of 2020 and it still works fine. It does what it is supposed to do.

I have one of these useless pieces of junk. If you like cold ass air constantly circulating and blowing on you it’s for you. If you like s untit that runs for days on end but only gets warm when it unpredictably blows inferno temperature air out a couple times a day it’s for you. I hate this thing. It literally blows cold air around for days on end. If you raise the tempature and manually kick the heating unit on it gets so hot you cant breath, and within an hour it’s back to that cold uncomfortable circulating air. Oh also. I have a 1000sq house and can expect my electric to double or more all winter. $300 this month. I would never buy any heat pump again especially Goodman.

Bought my House in the summer of 2000 with a new Goodman system installed by the builder. couple of years in had a small electrical problem. Replaced the components and all was fine. After about 10 years the compressor failed and had to be replaced. in 2018 the system finally showed a loss of Freon and found a leaking Schrader valve tightened it and brought charge up to where it should be and all was good, for a couple of months. Then it stopped cooling again weather was cool enough to shut down system for a while. Heating time came and could not believe that it was working in heat mode just fine. Spring comes around and still system won’t cool the house. found that the sequencer had a heat strip stuck on. disconnected the strip and cool house again. System is 20 years old and the cabinet under the house is getting very rusty and preparing to fall apart. In my opinion the Goodman system gets a bad rap because of faulty installers. Oh, I do not work in the industry, I work in the auotomotive.

Not sure about price. Our 25 year old Goodman system just laid down on us, so we can’t complain.

I have two good an units on my house, one upstairs and one daw stairs. Most of my HVAC troubles have been with thermostats. Once I learned that all but coolant issues are electro-mechanical, I have done almost all my own repairs. My upstairs unit has had the inside fan motor replaced. The downstairs unit has had the inside and outside fan motors replaced, the starting capacitors for both motors, and the heat strip solenoid. It has also had refrigerant added twice not bad for 19 years!,

I have had my unit since April of 2015 and it’s been one thing after another. First, they had to put a coil in it within a few months after I bought it. Then they had to put freon in it and now within 2 years I am having to spend money on heat strips..why? because they do not WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say I am very angry. I will never get another Goodman ever again. People do not buy a Goodman unit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Goodman heat pump works just fine. Installed in 2014. Cools in the summer, heats in the winter. Will come back and update every so often to see how things are going.
